Cyberdyne Inc. Chief Executive Officer Yoshiyuki Sankai, a professor at University of Tsukuba and Executive Research Director at the Center for Cybernics Research, has created innovative Cybernics Technologies to improve/treat/support/expand the function of the brain nerve systems, physiological systems and physical systems of patients or elderly persons. He also has been promoting the social implementation of these Cybernics technologies in order to create a Future "Society 5.0".

Dr. Sankai will speak on the role of Cybernics , which fuses "Humans, "AI Robots" and "Information Systems, and introduce some innovative Cybernics technologies. The world’s first Wearable Cyborg HAL (Hybrid Assistive Limbs) is a representative example of Cybernics Technologies. HAL is called the world's first “Wearable Cyborg” because it functionally fuses with the human wearer using bioelectrical signals derived from the brain nerve system. Wearing the HAL establishes an interactive BioFeedback iBF ) loop between the brain/body and HAL, strengthening and modulating synaptic connections between nerves and nerves, and between nerves and muscles.

The lecture will cover the latest information on various innovative Cybernics Technologies such as those involved in the vital sensing of human physiology and those in labor support using AI robots, that are actively being implemented in the medical, welfare, and living fields including the work environment. and Possibilities of Japanese Enterprises in Solving Social Issues.

This event is brought to you by the Consulate General of Japan in Los Angeles and JAPAN HOUSE.
