There are many ways to eat sushi, even at home. In this class, you will learn about chakin sushi. Served at festivals and celebrations, chakin sushi is made with seasoned sushi rice, wrapped in a thin omelet, and colorfully garnished. The thin egg omelet resembles chakin (tea cloth) fabric , which is where the dish gets its name. This sushi can be easily transported from your kitchen to a variety of places, including holiday parties, office gatherings, and more. You can find most of the ingredients in your refrigerator and pantry.
Instructor Tomoko Imade will demonstrate how to use seasonal ingredients to make miso soup, and will then lead participants to make sushi together.
