Nearly 100 influential Los Angeles art, civic, design and fashion leaders attended a prestigious Design Dialogue co-hosted by Surface magazine and Japan House Los Angeles to accompany the inaugural exhibition in the Japan House Gallery and the U.S. solo debut of cutting-edge fashion designer Kunihiko Morinaga, founder of the label ANREALAGE.
The Jan. 19 dialogue featured Morinaga in conversation with Surface editor-in-chief Spencer Bailey. Together, they discussed Morinaga’s how he became interested in fashion design and his work to present the extraordinary in everyday life.
Titled A Light Un Light, the exhibition highlights experimental works by Morinaga that span the past decade the blend fashion, technology and material science. The exhibition is on view at the Japan House Gallery on the second floor of the Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood.
